The lifted blush look is a hot style right now. Whether you've never tried it or want to hone your technique, we'll explain how to get this youthful look.
What Is the "Lifted" Blush Look?
The lifted blush look elongates your face to give you that snatched, defined appearance. While blush usually makes your face look fuller and flushed, this style can add sharpness without being as harsh as a contour. It can perk up your face and give you color without creating that heavy blush look.
How to Achieve the Lifted Blush Look, Step by Step
You should apply your blush after your foundation, concealer, and contour. Many people like to apply bronzer before applying blush, but these can be interchanged if you prefer. You just don't want any overlapping bronze to dull the blush color, so be mindful of that.
When all your other makeup is in place, follow the steps below to create a lifted look with blush.
Step 1: Choose Your Blush Product and Brush
Before we apply anything, decide how much color and definition you want, and your preferred product format. The lifted look has more definition than many other blush styles, which you can lean into or soften with blending.
If you want a more defined look, use a high-pigment cream blush and the Cat Paw Blush Brush. With 455 bristles, the dense brush ensures a deep color.
For a milder but still impactful blush look, use the Tapered Cheek Brush, which works just as well with creams and liquids as it does with powders.
Finally, if you prefer an understated look, use a blush powder with the Ultra Plush Blush. The soft bristles deposit makeup for a natural, blended look.

Step 2: Pick Up Your Product the Right Way
For powders, swirl your brush gently into the product and tap off any excess. If you're using a cream or liquid, it's best to apply it to the back of your hand and then warm it up with the brush. This preps the brush and product, and prevents you from picking up too much blush at once.
Step 3: Find the Top of Your Cheekbone
Find the highest point on your cheekbones, which is directly below the outer corner of your eyes. It's where you can feel the bone the most when you touch your face. This is where you'll start applying your blush.
Step 4: Apply and Blend the Blush Up and Out
If using powder, place the brush on the highest point of your cheekbone and gently sweep it up and out, stopping at your temples. For cream and liquid blush, it's best to stipple or dab the product, following the same path.
Use a pencil or thin brush handle as a guide. Hold it against your face, creating a line from your cheekbone to your temple, and apply the brush above it.
The Tapered Cheek Brush can help you blend and diffuse the product until it looks as natural or bold as you want.
