Brushies Red Carpet Tutorial
Sam recreates her favorite look from the red carpet this award season – Priyanka Chopra’s statement-making red-lipped look. The simple look featuring lightly bronzed skin and a statement lip is easy to recreate for any occasion.
This look is about finding harmony between the eyes and the lips. Start with a full coverage foundation in two colors with an Expert Face brush. Sam’s pro-tip of using a facial spritz helps work the foundation into your skin without giving your face a heavy, cakey look. For brows that mirror Priyanka Chopra’s, brush them upward with the Real Techniques Lash Brow Groomer and fill in the shape with a darker eye shadow using a Slanted Brow brush.
Use a soft, brownie gold waterproof eyeliner pencil all over the eyelid, underneath the eyes, and across the waterline. Gently buff with a Bold Metals 203 brush to move the eyeliner around. The brownie gold color gives your eye a subtle, smoky look while leaving enough facial real estate to go with a bold lip. Brush a black eye shadow close to the eyelashes using a Bold Metals 202 to thicken the lashes before applying mascara. Sam uses the Lash Brow Groomer for a clump-free mascara application. Remember to use waterproof mascara for your bottom lashes to avoid the mascara-running-down-your-face look.
Use the Bold Metals 200 Brush to apply concealer under the eyes for a fresher look. Shape your face with a contour pencil and work in with a setting brush until nearly invisible. Use the 100 Brush in large, sweeping C-shaped motions on each side. Highlight your cheekbones with an angled highlighter brush and liquid highlighter. Set your face by brushing powder under your eyes and throughout the T-zone with a 100 Brush. Of course, this look wouldn’t be inspired by Priyanka Chopra without a statement lip. Fill in your completely naked lips with a lovely red pencil to feel especially fabulous on any glamorous night.
