Yes, September is *the* month for fashion, but you can’t have runway shows without amazing makeup looks to complement them!

We are always excited to see what the top beauty influencers are creating for the upcoming season, but why wait till 2017 when so many of them are perfect to wear right now?

Here are 5 runway trends that are perfect for transitioning into autumn:

Glistening Skin

Complexions looked very bare and very shiny. Models loped down the runway with glossy cheekbones that highlighted their enviable bone structure, in a sweaty-yet-sexy kind of way.

How to apply it to your routine:

  • Show off that healthy summer glow! Choose a sheer foundation (or tinted moisturizer) and sweep over face with a damp miracle diamond sponge. Flip the sponge around and use the pointed tip to spot conceal where more coverage is needed.
  • Show off your high points with a little shine. Use the rounded edge of your mini eraser sponge to roll a face gloss over the upper edge of your cheekbones.

Blurred Lines

Forget about mastering precise graphic liner—the smokey line is back! But this time around, it’s all about getting a sultry look without committing to a full smokey eye.

How to apply it to your routine:

  • Sweep a nude or muted powder eyeshadow over the lid and crease with your base shadow brush to prevent the liner from transferring into the crease. Grab a dark eye pencil (like Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Pencil) and run onto the upper and lower lash line. Place your accent brush over the pigment and “smudge” (use short back and forth strokes without lifting off of the skin) along the lash line. To enhance the smokey effect, continue to build the line higher up.
  • The liner may be messy, but the skin surrounding the eye area should always be flawless. Squeeze a dab of concealer on the flat side of the mini eraser sponge and run under the lower lash line up to the outer brow.

Lotsa Cheek

Contouring, schmontouring—bring on the blush! Bare skin was contrasted with splashes of pink on the cheeks for a fresh finish.

How to apply it to your routine:

  • Choose a cream blush (like Stila Convertible Colorand dot onto the apples of the cheeks with your finger, take the curved side of your miracle complexion sponge and use a rolling motion to press the cream into the skin and blend out lightly, onto the surrounding area.
  • To achieve the 80’s draping technique also seen on the runway, sweep blush along the top half of your cheekbones into the hairline to visibly “lift” the cheekbones and slim the face.

The Perfectly Imperfect Pout

Forget about precise or over lined lips, pressed in color with soft edges is an easy-to-wear trend for spring.

How to apply it to your routine:

  • Enhance the color and shape of your lips with a lip shade that is the same color as the darkest color of your lips. Choose a lip formula that has a soft velvet finish (like MAC Liptensity Lip Pencil) and layer over the inner 2/3 of your pout. Use the warmth of your finger to press pigment into lips, then grab your shading brush and blend out along the lip line.
