Just because you feel tired, doesn’t mean that you need to look it!  Here’s a few simple steps to “faking” a well-rested facade this holiday season!

No matter what your issue, we have the solution:

  1. For skin that has lost its luster, add a drop or two of luminizer to your foundation and work onto skin with your buffing brush.  The light reflecting particles will bounce light off of your skin for an “illuminated” look.  For fair skin, choose a light pink or peach shade and for medium to dark shades choose warmer gold and bronze formulas.  Try Makeup Forever Uplight Luminizer (1).
  2. Eliminate extra darkness under your eyes with a color corrector in addition to your concealer.  Neutralize any purple and gray tones with a pink or peach-based creamy corrector, then layer on a yellow-base concealer to bring skin back to flesh tone.  Apply both with your deluxe crease brush (2) allowing the brush to work product into the skin and waiting a minute or two between applications to let product settle and oxidize.  Try Benefit Cosmetics Erase Paste (3).

  3. Fake an awake look with a healthy glow.  Apply a cream blush to the apples of your cheeks with your stippling brush working up along the cheek bones in small circular strokes.  The creamy finish will give the appearance of dewy, hydrated skin while adding dimension and warmth to your complexion.  Try NYX Rouge Cream Blush in Glow (4).
  4. Define your eye without a applying a lot of makeup.  Skip the smokey or colorful eye looks that can weigh down an already tired eye. Pull attention to the top lash line with a tight gel eye liner which will visibly “lift” the eye.  Skip the purples and warm brown shades that exaggerate redness and choose a cool tone in gray, navy or dark brown.  Try Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Granite (5).
