Packing for a trip away can be a strenuous job at the best of times, and that is before you’ve even begun to tackle your over-flowing makeup collection. Whittling down your hoard of makeup brushes to just a few key staples to take away with you can be a taxing task, and undoubtedly you will end up with taking far too many and leaving a few left redundant at the bottom of your makeup bag. Therefore, I wanted to show you a very simple and natural makeup look solely using the three Real Techniques Travel Essentials brushes, proving that makeup on the go can be as easy as 1, 2, 3.
1. After priming my face with Benefit’s the POREfessional, using my fingers to blend, I applied Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation with the Essential Foundation Brush. I love the compact size and shape of this brush, making it perfect for finely blending your foundation in and creating a flawless finish. Its soft, rounded edge is wonderful at blending the foundation around your eyes and down the sides of your nose.
2. Next I applied a slick of YSL Touche Eclat under my eyes, around my nose and on my cupid’s bow and then softly blended it in using the Domed Shadow Brush. This brush is so much more than just an eyeshadow brush, and was ideal for blending my concealer in, as well as running a little dab of Benefit’s High Beam through my brow bone and in the corner of my eyes to help brighten and add radiance to my eye area.
3. For the final stage I took the Multi-Task Brush, possibly my favourite brush from the kit, and bronzed and contoured my face using Bourjois’ Delice de Soleil Bronzing Powder. The size of this brush means it is perfectly big enough to apply powder or bronzer all over, yet is small and shapely enough to precisely apply blusher or highlighter to your cheeks. To finish, I flushed my cheeks with Sleek Makeup’s Rose Gold Blush, a gorgeous glowing peachy-pink with gold shimmer.
I completed this look by lining my eyes with Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero and shaping my brows with the Sleek Makeup Brow Kit, a great compact for when you are on the go, with the powder, wax and brushes all in one place. After a quick application of MAC’s Haute & Naughty mascara and a slick of Dior Ultra Gloss #271, I was good to go!
